If you enable this feature you don’t have to enter the password each time you are logging into Windows and to do this it’s actually really simple, just follow these steps:
Type netplwiz into the Search bar of the Start menu (next to Windows logo)
If you can’t see netplwiz icon in the search results then you can do is, right-click the bottom left corner of the screen where the start button (Windows 10 logo) is there, so right-click and then you are going to click where it says run.
or type run into the search bar of the Start menu (next to Windows logo)
And now in the field that says open: you are going to type netplwiz or userpasswords2, so after typing that click OK or press Enter
This should bring up the user account dialog box. You should see a screen that looks like the below image, with your account(s). At the top left, there is a checkmark next to the option labeled Users must enter a username and password to use this computer. Uncheck that. So you (or users) won’t have to enter a password each time you/they are logging into the computer.
After doing that click apply. So now this is another important step as you can see here that there are 2 user accounts. You must choose the one that you would like to skip the whole login and password option. You can’t run WITHOUT a user account. So, if you want to automatically log into the above-highlighted account without having to enter a password then type the user name of the account, password and then again type the same password in confirm password. The passwords must match
For people getting a duplicate account (with accompanying error message):
In all other websites, the tutorial blogs and videos regarding this matter, you are made to think that you should put a password when in reality it is up to you if you want to put a password or leave the password box blank that is if you legitimately use an active/current account that has a password.
In the below dialog box which shows to set a password and confirm password – thereby DO NOT PUT A PASSWORD – LEAVE THOSE 2 PASSWORD FIELDS BLANK! And then click OK then Apply and OK; all as shown in the image below:
